The Herald, Piedmont, West Virginia, Fri 26 Mar 1915: 
"Mr. John Thomas O'Neil died suddenly at his home on Piedmont 
hill Saturday, of last week, March 20, following an illness 
of about a year, aged 67 years. Mr. O'Neil had been a miner. 
He is survived by his wife and ten children. They are Mrs. 
Sarah McGoye, Mrs. Emma Coombs, Mrs. Martha Howard, Mrs. 
Wesley Taylor, Mrs. Katie Sharry, Misses Clara, Rose and 
Josephine, and Richard and John O'Neil. The funeral service 
were (sic) conducted on Tuesday morning at St. Peter's 
Catholic church by Rev. John E. Horstkamp."
