O'Rourke, Ret., 44, formerly of Mt. Savage, died this morning in Great Lakes Naval Hospital, Chicago. Born in Midland, he was a son of Patrick O'Rourke and the late Rose (McDermitt) O'Rourke. Major O'Rourke retired recently from the Army. He enlisted in 1941 and served 46 months in North Africa. Major O'Rourke also served in Germany and Alaska. Surviving besides his father who lives with a daughter in Flemington, N.J., are his widow, Mrs. Rosemary (Noonan) O'Rourke, two brothers, Michael O'Rourke, Laurel, Md., and John O'Rourke, Washington; three sisters, Mrs. O.J. Hale, Flemington, N.J.; Mrs. Anthony Beck, Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. J.L. Becker, Highstown, N.J.; four sons, James O'Rourke Jr., Joseph O'Rourke, Kevin O'Rourke and John O'Rourke, all at home, and two daughters, Mary Ann O'Rourke and Kathleen O'Rourke, both at home. Services will be conducted Monday in Chicago and the body will be transported to Arlington National Cemetery for internment."
