The Cumberland News - July 22, 1968
ROMNEY— Services for Donovan Poland, 51, of RD 6, Romney, who died Friday in 
Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, as the result .of injuries sustained in a farm 
tractor accident on his farm, will be conducted today at 2 p.m. at the Hott 
Chapel Methodist Church, Kirby. Rev. James Mitchem will officiate and 
interment will be in the church cemetery.
Born in Kirby September 21, 1916, he was a son of Alvin C,and Edith (Kline) 
Poland, of Kirby. Besides his parents, Mr. Poland is survived by four sisters,
Mrs. Aldena Buckbee, Romney; Mrs. Lola McKee, Kirby, and Mrs. Hazel Broadwater 
and Mrs, Aleda Rephann, both of Cumberland; three brothers,Raymond Poland, 
Romney; Lloyd Poland, Kirby and Ward Poland, Winchester; two sons, Eugene 
Poland, RD 6, Romney, and Carroll Poland, New Castle, Del.
The body is at the Shaffer Funeral Home and will be taken to the church at
1 p.m.
