"Piedmont Herald" Piedmont, West Virginia, Friday 19 Jun 1941: 
"Funeral services for Miss Iola Ross, 82, who died last Friday at the Reeves 
Clinic, Westernport, were held Monday afternoon at the home of her niece, Mrs. 
Bessie Gowans, Barton. Rev. Cyril J. Hoover, Pastor of the Barton Methodist 
Church, officiated. Interment was in the Llewellyn Cemetery, near Barton. A 
daughter of the late William and Mary Michael Ross, she was born near Firm 
Rock, and lived in the section all her life. She is survived by one sister, 
Mrs. Mary Michaels, Lonaconing."
