Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, 22 Dec 1965: 
"Westernport, Walter Robert Ross, 72, of Stoney Run Road, died 
yesterday at his residence.  He was born in Westernport, a son 
of the late William M. and Mary L. (Montgomery) Ross.  Twice 
married, his first wife Leotto (Robison) Ross, preceded him in 
death.  He was a retired farmer and a member of Stoney run 
chapel.  He is survived by his widow, Mary (Robison) Ross; 
three sons, Robert and Clifford Ross, both of Cumberland, and 
Orville Ross, Laurel; two daughters, Mrs. June Minke, 
Cumberland, and Mrs. Helen Clark, Westernport; two half 
brothers, Vernon Ross, Cumberland, and Alva Ross, Swanton; two 
half sisters, Mrs. Pearl Kalso, Westernport, and Mrs. Mildred 
Lindsay, Cumberland; nine grandchildren and five great-
grandchildren.  The body is at the Boal Funeral Home where 
friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 
4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.  A services will be conducted 
Friday a 2 p.m. with interment in Philos Cemetery."
