Since the death of his wife over two years ago, he had been living alone. Mr. Rowan had been in poor health for a year or more, suffering from asthma and dropsy, which finally caused his death. He was employed by the C & P as watchman at the crossing near the depot. The deceased was born in County Mayo nearly 78 years ago. Three sons, Thomas J., Michael and James, and three brothers, Patrick, Daniel, Thomas, and two sisters, Mrs. Leopold Berkhart, (sic-should be Berkenbaugh) of Lonaconing, and Mrs. Bridget Calligan, of Pittsburgh, are left to mourn his demise.
