All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/mdfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Shawn McGreevy shawnmcgreevy@geatz.com "Evening Times" Cumberland, Maryland, Wed 25 Feb 1931: "Tri-Towns, Feb 25-Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Rowan, aged 65, wife of Thomas Rowan, Luke, who died Monday evening at Allegany Hospital, Cumberland, where she had been a patient since February 9, will be held tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock from St. Peter's Catholic Church with requiem high mass. Rev. Joseph L. Garvey, St. Patrick's parish, Baltimore, a nephew of Mrs. Rowan, will officiate. Interment will be in St. Peter's cemetery, Westernport. Mrs. Rowan's death was due to an infected arm. The infection followed a slight burn. Besides her husband she is survived by six children, John J. Rowan, Mrs. John Nelson, Miss Kathleen Rowan, R. N., and Miss Nellie Rowan, all of Cumberland, and Martin and William Rowan, at home. Three sisters, Mrs. James Garvey, Westernport; Mrs. John Quealy, Elk Mountain, Wyoming; Mrs. I.T. Murphy, Rawlins, Wyoming, and two brothers, William J. Tierney, Chicago and E. M. Tierney, Rawlins, Wyoming, also survive."
