The Herald, Piedmont, West Virginia, Fri 1 Feb 1924: 
"One of the Connellsville, Pa., papers carried the following 
account of the death of Mr. Scarry: "Joseph Scarry, 35 years 
old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Scarry of Race street, died 
Saturday morning at 3:45 o'clock at his home on South 
Pittsburgh street. Death was caused by pneumonia which he 
contracted about two weeks ago. He is survived by his wife, 
who was Miss Ada Paugh, of Piedmont, W. Va., and a daughter, 
Mary Ellen, at home; his parents; three brothers, Frank, of 
East Liverpool, Ohio; James and Fred, of Connellsville; and 
also a half brother, William Britt, of this city. Mr. Scarry 
was born and reared in Connellsville and received his 
education in the local parochial schools. After graduation 
he learned the machinist trade in the Baltimore and Ohio 
railroad shops. He was of a studious nature and was 
conversant..."
