JOHN E. SOUTHERLY
MOOREFIELD -- John E. Southerly, 75, of RD 3, died yesterday at Grant Memorial 
Hospital, Petersburg, where he had been a patient 10 days.
Born in Peru, he was a member of Tannery Chapel Presbyterian Church, and LOOM 
358, and was a retired employee of the West Virginia Department of Highways.
Surviving are his widow, Virginia (Burns) Southerly; three sons, Carl E. 
Southerly, Middletown, Va.; Wade H. Southerly, Martinsburg, and Neil D. 
Southerly, Brookville, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Mary V. Zirk, Manassas, Va., 
and Mrs. Elva M. Trent, Roanoke, Va.; two half brothers, William Keplinger, 
here, and Jefferson Keplinger, Arlington, Va.; 15 grandchildren; seven great 
grandchildren; two step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
The body will be at the Chambers Funeral Home, where friends will be received 
after 10 a.m. tomorrow.
