Stakem, 78, East Main Street, died this morning in Sacred Heart Hospital. A native of Lonaconing, he was the son of the late Patrick and Catherine (Cavanaugh) Stakem. His wife, Edith (Stevenson) Stakem preceded him in death. Mr. Stakem was a retired barber and was a veteran of WWI and a member of the American Legion of Lonaconing, St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society of the church. Survivors include two daughters: Miss Ester Stakem, R.N., at home; and Mrs. Marie Boundinot, Iowa; a son, Daniel J. Stakem, Jr., Washington; two sisters, Mrs. Bernard Miller, Lonaconing and Mrs. T. Frank Kelly, Cumberland; a brother, Edward Stakem, Lonaconing; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The body is at the Eichhorn Funeral Home where the family will receive friends tomorrow from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A requiem mass will be celebrated Friday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
