"Evening Times" Cumberland, Maryland, 24 Feb 1933: 
"LONACONING-Funeral of Mrs. Esther Stakem Funeral services for Mrs. Esther Stakem, 
aged 77 years, widow of Patrick Stakem, Sr., who died at her home on St. Mary's 
Terrace, Monday, were held from St. Mary's Catholic Church, Thursday morning with 
the Rev. Joseph P. Nolan, Frostburg, officiating. Among those who attended the 
services were: Mrs. Daniel R. Ryan, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Chris Devlin, Baltimore; John 
and Michael Byrnes, Eckhart Mines; John McGready, Loretta McGready, Nora and Patrick
McGeady, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Stakem, Patrick Stakem, Miss Matilda Kenny, Miss 
Kathleen Kenny, Richard Cullen, Patrick Creegan, Mrs. J. Carroll, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh 
O'Rourke, Mr. and Mrs. John O'Rourke, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. John ORourke, Jr., Mrs. Ann 
McGreevy, James and D. Arnold McGreevy, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Firley, Mrs. Ella Kelly 
and family, Cumberland. The pallbearers were: grandsons, Patrick and Charles 
McDonough and Richard, Isaac, Edward and Patrick Stakem. Interment was in the church 
cemetery."
