When found he was in a sitting position, and it is supposed that in attempting to cross the trestle, he fell thorough and died before help could reach him. The last time he was seen alive was on Tuesday night when he left the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Burns, at Ocean, to go to the residence of his son, James, at Midland. Mr. Stakem was born in Dublin in the year 1810 and came to this country from County Wicklow, in Ireland, in 1870."
