He was born in the county Weclow (sic), Ireland, and came to this country 38 years ago last April. He has always been a member of the Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. William Byrne, Ocean; Mr. Patrick Stakem, of Lonaconing; Mr. James Stakem and Mr. Daniel Stakem, of Midland; and the following children: Mrs. Miles Thompson, Mrs. Paul Murry, Miss Eliza Stakem, Miss Nellie Stakem and the following sons: James, Peter and Patrick, of Midland and Thomas Stakem, of Lonaconing. The funeral services were held in St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Rev. F. P. Mackall preached the funeral sermon and conducted the funeral services. The remains were taken to St. Michael's Cemetery at Frostburg on the one o'clock train for interment. The floral contributions were many and very beautiful."
