Stakem, 67, of Midland, died last night at this home of a heart attack. He was the husband of Mrs. Theresa Stakem who was killed last Christmas Eve along the highway while on her way to church. A native of Ocean, he was the son of the late John and Ellen Stakem. He was a retired coal miner and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. He is survived by seven sons, Pfc. Joseph, with the Army in the South Pacific; Staff Sgt. James, Jr., with the Air Force in England; Coxwain Thomas, U. S. Navy in the South Pacific; Jerome, of Eldorado, Ark.; Clement, of Midland; Lawrence, of Baltimore and Paul, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Henry Milford, Lonaconing; Mrs. William Logsdon, Midland; Miss Teresa Stakem, at home; two brothers, Peter, of Lonaconing and Patrick, of Cumberland; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie McMahon, Midland and Mrs. Eliza McGuire, Hagerstown, and 11 grandchildren."
