"The Evening Times" Cumberland, Maryland, 19 Jul 1915: "
Lonaconing-After a prolonged illness of tuberculosis, John C. Stakem, 
age 27 years, son of Mr. Patrick Stakem, of Buck Hill, Lonaconing, 
died Sunday at the State Sanitarium at Sabillasville. The deceased 
had resided in Cincinnati for some time. He was a brother to Messrs. 
Patrick Stakem, Jr., and Daniel Stakem of this place and Thomas E. 
Stakem, merchant tailor of Midland. Funeral services will take place 
from St. Mary's with burial in the church cemetery."
