Stakem, 62, formerly of here, died Tuesday in a Baltimore hospital where he had been admitted earlier in the day. Born in Midland, he was the son of the late James B. and Teresa (Sharpe) Stakem. He is survived by his widow, Margaret (Duckworth) Stakem, one son, Lawrence Stakem, Jr., Alexandria, Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Gilbert Grille and Mrs. Regina Knowlton, both of Baltimore; four brothers, Joseph E. Stakem, with the Army in Germany; Thomas C. Stakem, Midland; James B. Stakem, Silver Spring, and Paul F. Stakem, Alexandria; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Milford, Lonaconing; Mrs. Cecil Watts, Malvern, Arkansas and Mrs. Ronald Cheezum, Baltimore and six grandchildren. The body is at the Stansbury Funeral Home, 6411 Windsor Mill Road, Baltimore.
