"The Cumberland Times" Cumberland, Maryland, 8 Nov 1967: 
"Mrs. Helen Veronica Stapleton, wife of John A. Stapleton, 314 Columbia 
Street, died yesterday at Sacred Heart Hospital where she had been a 
patient one week. Born at Westernport, she was a daughter of the late 
John and Mary (Halfpenny) McPartland. Mrs. Stapleton was a member of St. 
Patrick's Catholic Church, the Sodality, Catholic Daughters of America, 
Sacred Heart Hospital Auxiliary, and the Third Order of St. Francis. 
She also was a former employe of the McMullen and Rosenbaums Department 
Store. Also surviving, besides her husband, is a sister, Miss Catherine 
McPartland."
