J. Leonard in Pittsburgh, Mrs. Mary Steganeous, age 69 years, of South Connellsville, died very suddenly last night. Mrs. Steganeous went to Pittsburgh last Saturday to visit her daughter and on eaving home was enjoying her usual good health. Yesterday afternoon about 3 o'clock the members of her family were summoned to Pittsburgh on account of her serious illness and last evening about 7:30 o'clock friends of the deceased received word of her death. The news came as a great shock to the members of her family as well as to her wide circle of friends. Mrs. Steganeous was born and reared in West Virginia. Her maiden name was Miss Mary Moran. Twenty-five years ago with her family she came to South Connellsville to reside. Her husband died 17 years ago and one son, Edward, was killed on the Baltimore & Ohio railroad. Deceased was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. She is survived by the following children, Frederick, William, Charles, Misses Lottie and Catherine Steganeous, of South Connellsville, and John, of Ohio. Funeral director J. L. Stander went to Pittsburgh this morning to take charge of the body which will arrive here this afternoon on B & O train No. 14, due here at 3 o'clock."
