The Cumberland Evening Times

Mrs. Wilda Strong, 77 widow of Joseph Strong, died this 
morning at her home on Rt. 2, this city, after a lingering 
illness.  A native of Rush, Md., (near Flintstone) Mrs. 
Strong was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Ross.  
Her husband died in December 1942.  She was a member of 
First Baptist Church.  Surviving are two sons, Joseph E. 
and Roy Strong, both at home, a brother, J. D. Ross of 
Washington, and a grandchild.  The body will remain at 
the Hafer Funeral Home where services will be conducted 
Thursday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Edwin W. Saylor, pastor of 
the First Baptist Church.  Burial will be in the Rose Hill 
Cemetery.  

 

NOTE: I transcribed the article as it was in the newspaper 
and added the parentheses.  The info on her parents is 
incorrect.  Her parents were Sophia Wilson Ross and Rev. 
Robert Ross of Flintstone.
