Cumberland News, Cumberland, Maryland 20 May 1966: 
"MT. SAVAGE- Mrs. Harriett A. Thoerig, 79, died yesterday after an illness 
of several years.  Born in Mt. Savage, she was a daughter of the late Thomas 
and Gertha (Caleasser) Jenkins.  Her husband, William T. Thoerig, preceded 
her in death.  A daughter, Miss Beulah Thoerig, died April 5.  She is 
survived by three daughters, Mrs. Rosanna Boore, Mt. Savage; Mrs. Frances 
Werner, Cresaptown; and Mrs. Harriett Rice, Novi, Mich.; three sons, 
Theodore and James F. Thoerig, Mt. Savage, and John Thoerig, Akron. Ohio; 
brothers, Joseph and James Jenkins, Mt. Savage; 18 grandchildren and five 
great grandchildren.  The body is at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, 
where the litany for the departed will be read today at 8 p.m. Friends will 
be received from 2 until 4 until and 7 until 9 p.m.  A service will be 
conducted tomorrow 10 a.m. at St. George's Episcopal Church, of which she 
was a member. Rev. Wm. E. McGrew will officiate and interment will be in 
the church cemetery."
