RUTHERFORD B. THOMAS
Frostburg, March 11 – Rutherford B. Thomas, 52, son of the late Alfred and 
Rebecca Thomas, this city, died Sunday morning at the home of his cousin, Mrs. 
John Hoban, Maple street, where he resided five years since the death of his 
mother.
Mr. Thomas, coal miner, became ill Thursday while at work on a WPA project near 
Big Savage Inn.  His condition seemed somewhat improved Saturday by on Sunday 
he was stricken again and died before medical aid could be summoned.
He was unmarried and is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Charles T. Odgers, and 
Mrs. Robert Reese, this city; Mrs. William Horton, Borden Shaft, and Mrs. 
Samuel Ladato, Baltimore.  He was affiliated with St. Paul Lutheran Church.
