He was a resident of Leonardtown, a native of Frostburg and a former Cumberland resident. He was born November 24, 1910 in Frostburg, the son of the late William Henry and Ellen (Snyder) Walbert. Mr. Walbert was a retired employe of the Patuxent Naval Base. He was a veteran of World War II, serving overseas with glider units of the 82nd Airborne Division. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary (McGreevy) Shuck Walbert; one daughter, Linda Maria Walbert, Pocono, Pa.; a stepson, William Shuck, Washington; one brother, Charles S. Walbert, Potomac Park; two sisters, Carrie N. Walbert, Frostburg, and Mrs. Mary E. Moon, Ridgeley; a half-brother, Jessie C. Snyder, Frostburg, and five grandchildren. Services were conducted Friday in the Mattingly Funeral Home, Leonardtown, by Rev. Father Somola. Interment was in the Holy Faith Cemetery, there."
