Walsh LONACONING June 2 Edward G. Walsh, a native of Lonaconing, but a resident of Clarksburg, W. Va., for the last 43 years died in the latter city recently, according to the word received here. Solemn requiem mass was celebrated in St. James church, Clarksburg, by the Rev. James Rogers of Grant Town. The Rev. James Eagan, of Shinnston, was deacon, and the Rev. John J. O'Brien, superintendant of the diocean schools, was sub-deacon. The Very Rev. George Burke, of Bluefield, was master of ceremonies. Present in the sanctuary were the Right Rev. Monsignors William L. Lee, V. G, of Warwood, Wheeling; Edmund J. Yahn, of St. Joseph's Cathedral, Wheeling; Daniel D. Murphy, of St. Paul's church, Weirton, W. Va.; the Very Rev. P.H. McDermott, of Clarksburg; Matthias Buckheit, of Fairmont; and the Revs. John B. Quinn, Paul Sikora, P. A. Mullally, of Clarksburg; Francis Spillers, of Thomas; Joseph P. McKernan, of South Wheeling; Philip Brady of Mannington; Matthew O'Reilly, of Charleston; John Griffith, of Salem; John B. O'Reilly, of Benwood; John Hanley, of Rowlesburg; Father O'Reilly, S.M., of Buchannon; Michael J. Hannon, of Grafton; and George Kuhn, of Fairmont. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery. The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Cosgrove Walsh; two daughters, the Rev. Mother Magdalen, general superior of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Diocese of Wheeling; and Mrs. Joseph Rogers, of Clarksburg; one son, Martin Walsh, of Spelter, and eight grandchildren; also, two sisters, Sister Cecelia Marie, of the Sisters of St. Joseph, of Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, Miss Mary Walsh, and a brother, Joseph Walsh, both of Lonaconing, Md.
