Richard Walter, aged 88, died at Gilmore yesterday morning. He leaves a wife and four children and his brothers: William, Moses and John. His death was sudden and his relatives had the coroner notified. That official after investigating deemed an inquest unnecessary, and decided that death was due to an overdose of laudanum. A bottle containing a quantity of the drug was found near the body. Walters had used laudanum for years. The funeral will be at 2:30 tomorrow and interment will be made in Old Coney cemetery. Gustave Eichorn, funeral director.
