"Evening Times" Cumberland, Maryland, Wednesday 4 Nov 1942: 
"Lonaconing, Nov. 4-Bernice Woods, 54, son of the late Thomas and Ellen Woods, died at 
his home in Forrest Hills, a suburb of Wilkinsburg, last Thursday. Funeral services were 
conducted Monday in St. Coleman's Catholic Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. 
Mr. Woods was born in Lonaconing and lived here until he was 17. Those who attended the 
funeral from Lonaconing were Mr. and Mrs. Terrence Devlin and sons, Thomas and William, 
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Devlin, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Clark, Mrs. Katherine Powers, Terrence 
Woods, Leonarda and Thomas Powers, and Mr. and Mrs. John Devlin from Midland."
