"The News" Cumberland, Maryland, Wednesday 28 Jan 1976: 
" Mrs. James Woods, 76, of 56 Green Street, died Monday at Frostburg Community Hospital, 
where she had been a patient two weeks. Born in Gilmore, she was the daughter of the late 
Samuel and Esther (Edwards) Beeman. Her husband, James Woods, preceded her in death. She 
was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, the church chapter of the Catholic 
Daughters of America and the Sodality. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Veronica 
Winters, and Mrs. Joseph Harris, both of East Lake, Ohio; Mrs. Grover Cosner, Erie, Pa.; 
two sons, James and Edward Woods, both of Baltimore; 23 grandchildren and 27 great-
grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 
9 p.m. Court St. Michael's, CDA 2058 will hold a memorial service there today at 7:30 p.m. 
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael's 
Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers will be James 
Woods, James Woods, Jr., Larry Harris, Marshall Winters, Timothy Atkinson and Jack Winter. 
A Christian wake service will be held at the funeral home today at 7:30 p.m."
