"The News" Cumberland, Maryland, Thursday 13 Jan 1972: 
"William A. Woods, 74, formerly of here, died Tuesday at Prince William Hospital, Manassas, 
Va. He had been in ill health two months. Born at Lonaconing, he was a son of the late 
Terrence and Catherine (Gillespie) Woods. Mr. Woods was a member of Queen of Apostle 
Catholic Church, Annandale, Va. Surviving are his widow, Marie (Canty) Woods; six daughters, 
Mrs. Coletta Foote, LaVale; Mrs. Betty Marie Foltz, Fairfax, Va.; Mrs. Helen DelSignore, 
Annandale; Mrs. Kathryn McKee, Virginia Beach, Va.; Mrs. Mary Leone Pitsenberger, Rockville; 
Mrs. Roseann West, Gaithersburg; a brother, Alex Woods, Lonaconing, 25 grandchildren and 
four great-grandchildren. The body is at Murphy's Funeral Home, Columbia Pike, Arlington, 
Va. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Friday morning at Queen of Apostle Catholic 
Church, Annandale. Interment will be in Calvary Memorial Park, Burke, Va."
