"The Times" Cumberland, Maryland, Sunday 11 Feb 1940: 
"Lonaconing, Feb. 10-William J. Woods, 66, son of the late Bernard and Dorothy 
Woods, Lonaconing, died Friday at Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W. 
Va. He was a resident of Morgantown for 30 years but was a native of this city. 
The body will be brought to the home of his brother, Terrence Woods, Big Vein 
Hill, tomorrow. Surviving are his wife, Aleda (Minke) Woods; two sons and one 
daughter, all of Morgantown; four other brothers, Patrick, Cambridge Springs, 
Pa.; Bernard, Uniontown, Pa.; Thomas, Lansdowne, Md.; Alexander, McDonald, 
Ohio, and a sister, Mrs. Sara Kelley, McDonald."
