Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland 7 Oct 1948: 
"MIDLAND-Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ward, Midland, announce the coming 
marriage of their daughter, Emma, to Julius DiGioia, son of Mr. 
and Mrs. Carl DiGioia. Luke.  Rev. William J. McVeigh, uncle of 
the bride-elect, will perform the ceremony in St. Joseph's 
Catholic Church at 9:30 a. m. Saturday, October 15. Miss Julia 
Ward, Pittsburgh, sister of the bride will be maid of honor, 
and Miss Phyllis DiGioia, sister of the prospective groom, be 
bridesmaid. Mary Susan Murphy and Carole Cutter will be flower 
girls. Kathryn Ann Ward, another sister of the bride, will be 
train bearer.  Anthony DiGioia will be his brother's best man 
and Wayne Boal will serve as usher.  The bride will be given 
in marriage by her father..."
