Sunday Times, Cumberland, Md., February 16, 1941
Phillips-Timney   Lonaconing, Feb. 15 --  Miss Ruth Timney, daughter of Mr. 
and Mrs. John Timney of Detmold, and John J. Phillips, Jr., son of Mr. and 
Mrs. J. James Phillips, Sr., of Dan's Mountain, were married this evening at 8 
o'clock in the parsonage of the Methodist church by the Rev. Lewis F. Ransom.  
The attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Stevenson.
   The bride was attired in navy blue, with rose accessories and wore a 
shoulder corsage of pink sweet peas.  Both the bride and groom are graduates 
of Central High School, where Mrs. Phillips was a member of the basketball 
squad.  Mr. Phillips is a member of the pitching staff of the local baseball 
club.  They will reside in Lonaconing.
