Cumberland Evening Times (Maryland) November 5, 1908
Kept Marriage Secret -
   Mr. William Withers and Miss Mattie Swarthy have announced their marriage, 
which took place on January 5th, in the Kingsley Methodist Episcopal 
parsonage, the ceremony being performed by Ref. Alexander Blelaski, the 
pastor.  The groom is the only son of the late Wiliam E. Withers, a former 
newspaper man of Cumberland.  His bride is the daughter of Mr. Jerome 
Swartley, a conductor of the B. & O. Railroad, second division, residing on 
Race street.  The marriage has been kept a secret until within the past few 
days.
