I, Zachariah Johnson, of the city of Cumberland, Allegany county, Maryland, being weak in body, but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, do make, ordain, publish and declare the following my last Will and Testament. 1, I direct that my debts and funeral expenses be paid and that the peace of my interment be suitably marked and enclosed. 2, To my sister, Mary Zimmerman, I give five hundred dollars. 3, To my affectionate wife, Susan R. Johnson, I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my personal estate. 4, To my said sister Mary Zimmerman, and her heirs and assigns, I devise and bequeath the lot of ground and premises whereon she now resides in Frederick County, Maryland, in fee simple. 5, To my said wife Susan R. Johnson, I devise and bequeath the lot of ground with the improvements thereon, that I have purchased from Philip Wingert, situated at the intersection of Bridge and Mill Streets in the city of Cumberland and upon which I now reside, for and during her natural life, and after her death, I devise and bequeath the said lot of land to my daughter Anna M. E. Johnson and son William R. Johnson and their heirs and assigns forever. 6, To my said daughter Anna M. E. Laney and son William R. Johnson, I devise and bequeath all the rest and residue of my real estate wheresoever situate, to them and their heirs and assigns forever. 7, It is my wish and desire that my Executors shall not be required to execute a bond as such executors. 8, And lastly I hereby appoint my wife, Susan R. Johnson and my brother-in-law George R. Kephart executors of this my last Will and Testament, revoking and annulling all former wills by one heretofore made, ratifying and confirming this and none other to be my last Will and Testament. Witness my hand and seal this Second day of June, in the year eighteen hundred and ninety two. Z. Johnson, widow, and one of the executors named in the aforegoing last Will and Testament of Zachariah Johnson, late of Allegany County, Maryland, deceased, and made oath in due form of law; that after the death of Zachariah Johnson, the testator, she found the said Will among his, the testator's private effects. And the said Susan R. Johnson, further made oath in due form; that the aforegoing instrument of writing is the true last Will and Testament of the said Zachariah Johnson, deceased, that hath come to her hands or possession, and that she does not know of any other Will and Testament of the deceased aforesaid. Test; John B. Shannon Register of Wills State of Maryland Allegany County to wit; On this 16th day of May 1904, came John N Frantz and John B. Widener, two of the subscribing witnesses to the aforegoing last Will and Testament of Zachariah Johnson, late of Allegany County, Maryland, deceased, and made oath in due form of law; that they did see Zachariah Johnson, the testator, sign and seal said Will; that they heard him publish, pronounce and declare the same to be his last Will and Testament; that at the time of his so doing he was, to the best of their apprehensions of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, capable of executing a valid deed or contract, and that they and Hopewell Hebb, the first subscribing witness, thereto, now deceased, respectively subscribed their names and witnesses thereto, at the request of Zachariah Johnson, the testator, in his presence and all in the presence of each other.
