He was a farmer, served in the militia, and was a Assistant Tax Assessor in 1796. I have added a few periods and capitalized the following word to break the will up into sentences. " In The name of God Amen. I Thomas Leazear of Bedford County & State of Pennsylvania being very weak and sick in body, but of Perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God. Calling into mind the Mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed unto all men to die do make and ordain this my last will and Testament. That is to say Principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that give it and my body I recommend to the Earth to be Buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty Power of God. And as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this I give, demise (sic), and dispose of the same in the following Manner and form. First I give and bequeath to Nancy my dearly beloved wife all my Tract of Land containing containing (sic) one hundred and twenty-five Acres whereon I now live, likewise all my Personal Estate whatever shall remain at my decease after All my Just debts is Paid by her to be freely possessed and enjoyed as long as she remains in widowhood after my decease. And as there is a considerable Sum due on my Land to Charles Coxe, Esquire I desire my well beloved son Elijah to remain with his mother and carry on the business on the place and Pay for the land and he shall have the land and whatever els (sic) remains at his Mothers decease. Whatever remains of My Present Estate aggreable to the Praisment adding to that Eighty-two pounds ten shillings ten pence after all my just debts is paid (excepting what is due on my Lands) if so much remains I Give fifty Pounds Current money of Pennsylvania to be paid to my youngest son Thomas fifteen months after his Mothers decease.
