These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations. ************************************************************************ Andrew Rice Maryland State Archives Microfilm W 871-872 Wills - Allegany County, Maryland Liber A, Folio 154 In the name of God, Amen, I Andrew Rice, Sen, of Allegany County and State of Maryland being sick and weak of body but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof, and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and thereby being better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me hence do therefore make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say First and principally I commit my Soul unto the hands of Almighty God and my body to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors herein after named and after my death and funeral charges are paid I devise and bequeath as follows And whereas my daughter Anna being an Adult And entirely helpless I therefore for the keeping and maintaining the said Anna during her natural life give and devise unto my Son Andrew my Plantation wherein I know live, which includes the whole of my Real Estate known by the name Gumbers Goodness, containing by patent fifty three acres, The Resurvey on Gumbers Goodness containing seventy nine acres and two quarters now belonging to me, Kingover? Kindness containing twenty three acres and one fourth of an acre the Resurvey on the aforesaid tract containing ? in the whole with the originals one hundred and eleven acres by certificate called Dalongs Kindness and a tract called Anything containing by certificate ten acres. I give and bequeath unto my aforesaid son Andrew all my personal estate except what is hereafter mentioned. I give and bequeath unto every one of the rest of my children one hundred dollars, which is to say, son Frederick one hundred dollars, to my son Isaac one hundred dollars, to my son Jacob one hundred dollars, to my son William one hundred dollars, to my son John one hundred dollars, to my daughter Catherine one hundred dollars, to my daughter Rebecca (marked through and replaced with) Barbay one hundred dollars, and to my daughter Elizabeth one hundred dollars including what ? against them by account which I have already paid therein, And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my beloved son Andrew to be the sole Executor of this my last will and testament.
