These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations. ************************************************************************ Andrew Rice Maryland State Archives Allegany County, Maryland - Wills Microfilm CR 28-1,2, 3 Folio 60 In the name of God, Amen, I Andrew Rice being of sound and disposing mind and memory and understanding do make and publish this my last will and testament in form as follows: In the first place I order and direct that after my just debts are paid the residue of my property shall be given to my wife Scharlotte to be hers to all intent and purposes so long as she shall live and at her death whatever remains shall be equally divided between my children. In testimony whereof, I hereunto set my hand and seal the fourteenth day of December one thousand eight hundred and fifty six. Andrew Rice (SEAL) Signed sealed and delivered in presence of us the day of the date above mentioned. John Folck N. D. Smith John F. Hinkle Maryland Allegany County to wit: On this 10th day of June 1865 came John F. Hinkle one of the subscribing witnesses to the a foregoing last will and Testament of Andrew Rice late of said county deceased, and made oath in due form of law that he did see the testator herein named sign and seal said will, that he heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his last will and testament that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of his apprehension of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding, capable of executing a valid deed or contract and that he together with John Folck and N. D. Smith the other subscribing witnesses thereto respectively subscribed their names as witnesses to said will at the request of said testator in his presence and in the presence of each other. Hoover - Register On this 13th day of June 1865 came John Folck another of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing last will and testament of Andrew Rice late of said county deceased and made oath in due form of law that he did see the testator herein named sign and seal said will - that he heard him publish pronounce and declare that same to be his last will and testament that at the time of his so saying he was to the best of his apprehension of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding, capable of executing a valid deed or contract and that he together with N. D. Smith and John F. Hinkle the other subscribing witnesses there to respectively subscribed their names as witnesses to said will at the request of said testator in his presence and in the presence of each other. Rice and made oath in due form of law that the foregoing instrument of writing is the true whole last will and testament of Andrew Rice late of said county deceased, that has come to his hand or possession and that he does not know of any other.
