_________________________________________________________________________ Robert Twigg, Jr. is my 5th great-grandfather and with the help and direction of the other Twigg researchers, I almost feel as though I have come to know my ancestors. Robert's brother John Twigg of Robert is another 5th great-grandfather of mine through another line. When someone asks if I am from the black-eyed or blue-eyed Twiggs, I just say both! Below is the will of Robert Twigg, Jr. but first, let me tell you a little about Robert, Jr. On 18 April 1768, Robert Jr. purchases the tract "Sink Hole Bottom" from John Perrin Jr. Sink Hole Bottom contained 100 acres more or less and was sold to Robert Jr. for consideration of 40 pounds of current money. This tract was an original grant to John Perrin from Lord Baltimore 1 September 1761. This tract is located in the Murley's Run Hundred according to the 1783 Washington County Maryland Tax Assessment, which lists Robert Twigg, Jr. as having this and other tracts. This purchase started the Twigg movement to present day Allegany Co., MD and developed the settlement later to become known as "Twiggtown, USA". NOTE: There have been no corrections made to the spelling, grammar, or phrasing of this will.
