The thick walls of this large and venerable structure still remain. The catastrophe is a subject of great excitement and much regret in this usually quiet town. Several expert Baltimore firemen were present, but in consequence of the want of water, they were unable to check the flames. The naval academy pupils, with the government engine, were also present. The adjoining buildings were in imminent danger; but the snow upon the roofs undoubtedly saved the city from a destructive conflagration. Nearly the whole population of Annapolis were present to witness the brilliant but mournful spectacle of the destruction of a church so replete with historic associations. -Sun Correspondent.
