A formatted version can be Viewed at http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/anne/wills/howard-ah.pdf Anne (Harvey) Howard (d.1774) Will Anne Arundel County, MD Maryland Hall of Records Liber 40, folio 45 (Microfilm SR 4434-1) Written 21 June 1774 Probate 13 September 1774 In the name of God Amen I Anne Howard of the City of Annapolis Widow being sick and weak in Body but of sound perfect and disposeing mind and memory do make this my Last Will and Testament in manner following, My Soul I give to the hands of God who made me, and my Body to the Earth to be decently buryed at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named. As to my worldly Estate I dispose thereof as followeth. Imprimis my will and desire is that all my just debts be well and truly paid an also my Funeral expenses. Item As to all the Residue and Remainder of my Estate I give and bequeath the same to be equally divided amongst all my Children namely Samuel Harvey, Anne, Philip, Charles, Benjamin and Thomas Howard, my daughter Anne to have her full share over and above what I have given her by Deed. Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my son Samuel Harvey Howard whole and sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seal this 21{st} day of June Anno Dom 1774 Ann Howard (Seal) Signed Sealed Published & Declared as and for her Last Will and Testament in presence of us Thos Brooke Hodgkin J. Hall John Howard On the back of the aforegoing Will was thus written Vizt. Ann Arundel County to wit September 13{th} 1774 came Thomas Brooke Hodgkin and John Howard two of the subscribing Witnesses to the within Will and made Oath that they saw the Testatrix herein named sign and seal the same and heard her Publish Pronounce and declare it to be her Last Will and Testament, and that at the time of her so doing she was to the best of their apprehensions of a sound and disposing mind memory and understanding and that they severally signed their names as witnesses to this Will together with John Hall the third subscribing Witness in the presence and at the Request of the Testatrix, and in the presence of each other.
