A formatted version can be Viewed at http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/kent/wills/howard-s2.pdf Samuel Howard (d.1724) Will Anne Arundel County Liber 18, folio 290, Box H, Folder 117 & Microfilm SR 4412 Written 9 February 1723 Probate 23 & 29 June 1724 Maryland In the Name of God Amen I Sam{ll} Howard of Ann Arundell county planter being sick and weak in Body but of sound disposeing Mind and Memory praise God for y{e} Same, Do therefore make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following Viz{t} Imp{r}s I recomend my Soul to God in hopes to be Saved through the meritts of my blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ and my body I comit to the Earth to be decently buried by my Executrix hereafter named and as to such worldly estates it hath pleased God to give me, I dispose thereof as followeth Viz{t} Item I give and bequeath unto my three Sons Sam{ll} Howard, Thomas Howard, and John Howard, all my real Estate, that I have any Right or Title to whatsoever, to them and their Heirs for ever to be equally divided between them. Item I give and bequeath unto my af{sd} three Sons and my two Daughters Susanna Howard and Ruth Howard all my personal Estate (after my Wifes thirds deducted and my Just Debts paid) to be equally divided between them, and I do hereby Constitute ordain and appoint my Dear and loving Wife Elizabeth Howard Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revolke all former Wills by me made, and confirm this to be my last Will. In Wittness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed by seal this 9{th} day of February Anno Dom 1723. Samuell Howard Signed Sealed published and Declared in the presence of William Coleman, Philip Howard, Thomas Henton, Thos (his TT mark) Thackerell And at the bottom of the aforegoing Will was thus written (Viz{t}:) Kime the 23d 1724 Came Thomas Hinton and Thomas Thackerell, two of the above subscribing Evidences, who make Oath upon the Holy Evangelists of Allmighty God that they see the above named Sam{l} Howard the Testator Sign and Seal the within and above Instrum{nt} as his last Will and Testament and at the Same time heard him Publish and declare the same is to be, and at the time of his so doing he was of Sound disposeing Mind and memory to the best of their knowledge and that at the time of their Signing as Evidences the above named W{m} Coleman and Phil Howard, the other two Subscribing Evidences were present, and Signed as Evidences.
