Will dated November 2, 1813, proved January 18, 1820

I, James Murray of the City of Annapolis, do make
this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all 
other wills heretofore by me made.

1st I give to my son Daniel, my Survey in Clinton 
County, State of Ohio on which the town of Oakland 
is located, to him and his heirs forever. I also 
give to my 1st son Daniel my negro man Tom and my gold watch. 

2nd I give to my son James Murray my negro man named Jacob. 

3rd I give to my son Henry, a negro boy named Isaac, the 
son of my negro woman Lydia. 

4th I give and bequeath unto my Dear and Beloved wife, 
Sarah, the whole of my estate, both real and personal, 
excepting such legacies, as above divested to my sons 
Daniel, James, and Henry, to her and her heirs forever, 
under an injunction that she shall pay all just claims 
against my Estate. 

Lastly, I appoint my Dear wife Sarah, and my son Daniel, 
to be Executors of this my last Will and Testament. 

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal 
this 2nd day of November, 1813.

the Testator, as his last Will and Testament in
the presence of me and in the presence of such 
other who at his request has signed our names

Anne Arundel County
The 18th day of January 1820

Then came Sarah Murray and Daniel Murray and made 
oath on the holy Evangely of Almighty God that the 
within Instrument of wishing is the true, whole 
and last will and testament of James Murray 
late of Anne Arundel County, deceased, that hath 
come to their hands or possession and that they 
do not know of any other.

Then came Henry Maynadier, Elizabeth Maynadier, and 
Eliza Maynadier, the then subscribing witnesses to 
the written last will and testament of James Murray 
late of Anne Arundel County, deceased, and made
oath on the holy Evangely of Almighty God that they 
did see the Testator therein named sign and seal this 
will and that they heard him publish, pronounce, 
and deliver the same to be his last Will and Testament, 
that at the time of his so doing, he was to the best 
of their apprehensions of sound disposition, mind, 
memory and understanding, and that they respectively 
subscribe their names as witnesses to this Will and 
at the request of the Testator and all in the presence 
of each other.
