I William Simmons of Ann Arundell County in the State of Maryland being sick and weak in body but of sound and disposiing mind, memory and understanding do therefore make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say First and principally I command my soul unto the hands of almighty God and my body to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executors hereinafter named and after my debts are paid and my wife's thirds taken out, I devise and bequeath as follows I give and devise unto Richard Simmons, my eldest son, my plantation whereon I now dwell called Richard's Purchase containing by patent about one hundred twenty eight acres and also fifty acres of land adjoining on the East side of Richards Purchase being part of a tract of land called Greenwich Park in all about one hundred seventy and eight acres more or less to him the said Richard Simmons and his Heirs forever. Also I will that he the said Richard Simmons be at free liberty and heir to the above at the age of eighteen years but in case he should die without a lawful heir that the aforesaid land shall fall to his brother David Simmons and his heirs forever. Item. I give unto David Simmons my youngest son the remaining part of Greenwich Park which is about one hundred and eighteen acres and also that tract or parcel of land called Greenwich Farm containing by patent about one hundred and eight acres adjoining thereto in all about two hundred and twenty six acres more or less to him the said David Simmons and his heirs forever but in case he should die without a lawfull heir that the aforementioned lands shall fall to his brother Richard Simmons and his heirs forever. Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Simmons thirty pounds current money to be paid her when she arrives at the age of sixteen years. Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Susannah Simmons thirty pounds current money to be paid her when she arrives to the age of sixteen years. Item. I devise and bequeath all the rest and residue of my estate to be equally divided among all my children as above named that is Richard Simmons, David Simmons, Sarah Simmons and Susannah Simmons. And lastly I do herey constitute and appoint my dear wife Bethridge Simmons to be executor of this my last will and testament revoking and annulling all former wills by me heretofore made ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 17th daty of Feby. Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and ninety. William Simmmons of Rchd. On the back of the foregoing was thus written viz Anne Arundel County, the 5th day of October, 1790 Then came Bethridge Simmons the Executrix appointed in the within will and made oath on the holy Evangels of Almighty God that this instrument of writing is the true and whole will and testament of William Simmons late of Anne Arundel County deceased that hath come to her hands and possession and that she doth not know of any other.
