In the name of God Amen. I, Nicholas Worthington of Anne Arundel County, being sick in body but of sound disposing mind and memory praise be to Almighty God for the same do hereby make this my last will and testament in manner and form following. viz: Impris.: I give my soul to God in hopes to receive pardon my my sins, thro the merits of my blessed saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ and my body I commit to the earth to be buried by the Directions of my Executors hereafter named. Item: I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Worthington and to his heirs Forever my plantation whereon he now lives together with all my Lands thereunto adjoining to him and his heirs forever. Also, I give my said son Thomas what he hath already had of me over and above his part of my estate that shall remain after my wife's thirds, Debts and legacies herein given is deducted. Item: I give and bequeath to my son Charles Worthington and to his heirs Forever five hundred and fifty acres of lands being part of my Tract of Lands called Worthington's Grove.. laid of at the last Inds of the said Tract and __ plantation my lower Quarter is on the said land. Also I give my said son Charles all the Residue and Remainder of my Tract of land called Griffiths Adventure not resurveyed and included in my tract of land called Worthington's Grove all which said lands give to my said son Charles and to His heirs forever. Also I give my said son Charles what he hath already had of me over and above his part of my estate that shall remain after my wife's thirds, Debts, and legacies herein given is deducted. Item: I give and bequeath to my son Brice John Worthington and to his heirs Forever my dwelling plantation together with all my lands thereunto adjoining. Also I give my said son Brice John all that part of a Tract of land called Turkey Quarter now in my possession which Brice Thomas Beal Worthington is to convey to me agreeable to his bond .. for taht purpose all which said lands I give to my said son Brice John Worthington and to his heirs forever. Also I give my said son Brice John seven Negroes which I heretofore possessed him with Viz; Mall, Alle, Tom, Jane, Sam, (children of Moll, Charles), and Joe together with stocks of creatures of every kind Cr.. of all sorts, house, furniture and and plantation utensils now with him on the plantation whereon he lives. all the rest of the Negroes on the plantation where my said son Brice John now lives he has nothing to do with only as my manager and trustee over and above his part of my estate that shall remain after my wife's thirds, Debts, and legacies herein given is deducted. Item: I give and bequeath to my son John Griffith Worthington and to his heirs forever all the Residue and Remainder of my Tract of land called Worthington's Grove. Also, my Tract of land called Fancy together with my Tract or parcel of land called The Meadow (which I purchased of Ann Walker) which several said tracts or parcels of land lies conjoins together all which said tracts or parcels of land I give my said son John Griffith Worthington and to his heirs forever. Also I give my said son John Griffith three Negroes viz: Joshua, Abigail and Isaac. Also I give him what he hath already had of me over and above his part of my estate that shall remain after my wife's thirds, Debts, and legacies herein given is deducted. Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Catherine Johnson what she and her husband hath already had of me over and above her part of my estate that shall remain after my wife's thirds, Debts, and legacies herein given is deducted. Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Worthington three Negroes viz: Cale, Charity, Sam of Jane, one feather (bed and furniture), fifty pounds current money. Also, what she hath already had of me over and above his part of my estate that shall remain after my wife's thirds, Debts, and legacies herein given is deducted. Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Achsah Worthington seven Negroes viz: Nell, Judy Walle, Mingo, Henny, Luck, Manuel, one feather (bed and furniture), fifty pounds current. Also, what she hath already had of me over and above his part of my estate that shall remain after my wife's thirds, Debts, and legacies herein given is deducted. Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Goldsborough what she and her husband hath already had of me over and above her part of my estate that shall remain after my wife's thirds, Debts, and legacies herein given is deducted. Item: It is my Will and desire that my wife Catherine Worthington during the time she shall remain a widow of my Name and my Daughters Elizabeth and Achsah and my Grand Daughter Ann (Daughter of my son Nicholas, deceased) dureing their maiden lives, that none of them be disturbed from my dwelling plantation but that they and each of them live and enjoy a peacable life and which I beg my son Brice John will pay due and proper attention too and show towards his mother and sisters the duty and love of a son and brother and the tenderness and love of a father and uncle to my grand daughter Ann Worthington, daughter of my son Nicholas, deceased. Item: I give and bequeath all the residue of my real and personal estate after my wife's thirds, Debts, and legacies herein given is deducted equally to be divided between my eight children and grand daughters...son Nicholas, deceased. And it is my will and desire and request that no difference arise on the division thereof but that the same be divided by indeferent persons or by lot or any other way that may best suite to keep that good harmony which ought to subsist amongst Brethren and is desired and which I beg may with you be. Item: It is my Will that my estate be no appraised that my executors be not Answerable for any loss nor to account with the prerogative or Orphans Court for the same but that it be divided and settled amongst my wife and legatees on the best manner that can be agreed o without any commission to my executors for their trouble they are to bear no loss nor to have any profit there from as executors. Lastly: I do hereby constitute, ordain and appoint my loving wife Catherine Worthington and loving son Brice John Worthington full and sole executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoke all former wills by me made and this to be taken only as and for my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventh day of January seventeen hundred and ninety three.
