All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/mdfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: james turner jht456@hotmail.com April 11, 2007, 10:31 am Parrishes Range Baltimore County Written: June 26, 1700 This Indenture made the 26 day of June in the year of our Lord 1700 between EDWARD PARRISH of the County of Ann Arundel in the Province of Maryland Cooper of the one part and JOHN WOODEN of the same County and Province Carpenter of the other part Witnesseth that ye sd EDWARD PARRISH as well for and in consideration of the full and just sum of FIfteen Pounds of good (currancy ?) of England and 9 LBs (?) of Blue Linnen to him the said EDWARD PARRISH on hand already paid and delivered or secured to be well & truly paid or delivered by the said JNO WOODEN at or before the ensealing and delivery hereof the recipt whereof the sd. EDWARD PARRISH doth hereby acknowledge and therewith to be fully content satisfied and paid thereof and of every part thereof the said JNO WOODING his heirs executors and assigns and every of them doth hereby acquitt exonerate and discharge forever by those presents as also for divers other good causes and considerations him likewise thereto especially ( ?) hath given granted bargained sold assigned (?) and confirmed and by these presents do fully freely clearly and absolutely give grant bargain sell asign (?) and confirm unto the said JOHN WOODEN his heirs and assigns for ever all that parcel of a Certain Tract of Land containing Two Thousand Acres Called and Known by the name of PARISHES RANGE lying situate and being in BALTIMORE COUNTY on Gwinns Falls at the head of PATAPSCO RIVER the said Parcell of Land intended to be herby bargained premises Begins at a bounded hickory on the west side a stony branch North Seventy Two Degrees Easterly Sixty Perches on another bounded hickory standing by a small Draught of the aforesaid branch It being in the Given line of the whole tract of land and running up the said given line North two degrees Easterly One Hundred Sixty Two Perches thence West Seventy Perches so with a Straight Line to the first Bounder containing and laid out for Seventy Acres of land more or less to be held of the Mannor of Baltimore together with all dwelling houses tenements out houses barns stables tobacco houses and Structures buildings fence and fencings whatsoever tothe same belonging or appertaining and likewise all Pattents Deeds Monuments Escripts and writings or Evidences whatsoever that may any way touch or concern the same hereby intended bargained Premises with all and singular the appurtenances to the said Parcell of Seventy Acres of Land or any part or parcell thereof Royall Mines Excepted to have and to hold the before mentioned Seventy Acres of land and every part and parcell thereof with all and Singular the Premises and appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appurtaining to him the said JOHN WOODXXX (ing scratched out) his heirs and assigns for ever and to no other intent or purpose whatsoever And the said EDWARD PARRISH for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth covenant promise grant and agree to and with the said JOHN WOODEN his heirs executors administrators and assignors and every of them by these persons that be the said EDWARD PARRISH now at the time of the ensealing and delivery hereof is and Standeth seized in his Demeanor as of fee of and in the above mentioned (?) granted Land and Premises and every part and parcell thereof with all and (?) appurtenances of a good sure indefeasable estate in fee simple free and clear and freely and clearly discharged of any and all incumbrances whatsoever and is the true and perfect owner of the above mentioned hereby bargained premises and every part and parcell thereof and hath in himself good right full Power and lawfull authority to give grant Asign bargain sell (enseoss?) convey assure and confirm the said land and premises unto the said JOHN WOODEN his heirs and assigns for ever in manner aforesaid And the said EDWARD PARRISH for himself his heirs executors and administrators and every of them doth covenant promise grant and agree to and with the said JOHN WOODEN his heirs executors administrators and assigns and every of them that he the said EDWARD PARRISH his heirs executors administrators themselves and all and every other Person or Persons lawfully claiming whatsoever the said land and premises before mentioned to be hereby bargained land and premises with the appurtences and every part and parcell thereof shall and may from henceforth for ever Peaceably and quietly have hold use occupy possess and enjoy the same without the lett (least?) suite trouble molestation disturbance or hindrance of him the said EDWARD PARRISH or any other person or persons whatsoever freely and clearly acquitted exonerated and discharged (saved?) harmless and indemnified of and from all former and other gifts grants bargains sales dowers uses will entails annuity charges and incumbrances whatsoever the rents and services from henceforth coming due to the lord or lords of the fee of whom the same is holden only excepted and foreprized and also that the said EDWARD PARRISH his heirs executors administrators or assigns or either of them shall and will from time to time and all times hereafter within the space or term of Seven Years next ensuing the date hereof all the reasonable request costs and charges in the Law of him the said JOHN WOODEN his heirs executors administrators or assigns make do acknowledge suffer and execute or cause to be made done acknowledge suffered and executed all and every such further and other Act or Acts thing or things device and devices assurance and assurances in the law whatsoever for the (?) and conveying the aforesaid land and premises to the said JOHN WOODEN his heirs and assigns for ever as by his or their council learned in the Law shall be reasonably advised devised and required allowing other conveyances and assurances to be made so as aforesaid shall to the only Proper use and behoof of him the said JOHN WOODEN his heirs and assigns for ever and to no other use intent (or) Purpose whatsoever In Witness with(?) named their
