The State of Maryland know ye that whereas the Intendant of the Revenue was by law vested with full power and authority and was directed to sell and dispose of certain reserves in this state. In pursuance whereof the said Intendant exposed the same to sale and a certain Thomas Ayers of Harford County became the purchaser of part of the reserve land in Baltimore County. And whereas a certificate of survey of the said part hath been returned to the Western Shore Land Office containing one hundred and thirty acres called by the name of Tracey’s Folly and it appearing by a receipt endorsed on the said certificate that the purchase money hath been fully paid to the treasurer of the Western Shore. The State of Maryland doth hereby grant unto the said Thomas Ayers the said tract or parcel of land called Tracey’s Folly lying in Baltimore County aforesaid. Granted 22 Nov 1792. MD LW&P, FHC Film 0013125, page 195. “Beaston’s Choice”, 2 November 1792, obtained from Western Shore Office a special warrant to resurvey the following lands contiguous to each other. “Beaston’s Choice”, granted to Joseph Beaston, 32 acres; “Mary’s Delight”, land standing on hill and on West side of Western Prong of Great Falls of Gunpowder lying so many perches, etc. to tract of land called “Walnut Hills”, surveyed for Christian Singery. 28 August 1811. Joseph Beaston – Baltimore County “Newfound Bottom” 240 acres to “Beaston’s Choice” to “Mary’s Delight Enlarged”, surveyed for John Crayton to “Morgan’s Venture”, surveyed for Nicholas Morgan, close to “Walnut Hills”, surveyed for Christian Singery. MD LW&P 1811-1815 FHC Film 0013133, page 52 Samuel Beedle of Cecil County Set forth that Richard James had on 3 May 1669 laid out for him a tract of land called “James Adventure” lying and being in Baltimore county, now in Cecil County, 200 acres under Old Rent by virtue of this the said James his right and by assignment from John Hawkins. Certificate returned to land office for 132 acres. Mutations of possession and this land became the right of the petitioner who found no patent ever issued on the certificate and he being desirous humbly wants warrant to resurvey it with liberty of adding contingencies, etc. Granted 24 March 1749 for 78 acres. Philip Bender – Baltimore County “Bender’s Plain’s” by assignment. Assigned 30 October 1789 land to Uriah Freeland, who by assignment 24 December 1789 transferred land to Thomas Boaring (Boring) of Baltimore County. Land beginning at a bounded chestnut tree standing on the top of a ridge and near to small path called “The Olde Maryland Path”. Granted 30 September 1790. MD LW&P 1792-1795, FHC film 0013125, page 7 Samuel Bennett – Baltimore County 28 April 1813, obtained special warrant to resurvey part of tract of land called “Sandy Bottom”, lying in Baltimore County which was granted 13 June 1763 to Edward Hewitt for 400 acres. When resurveyed this tract of land found to contain 130 ½ acres – Land lying to line of tract of land called “Wages Trust” then to tract of land called “Arabia Patria Enlarged”. Said Gray departed this life April 1807, intestate, leaving his only heirs, the petitioners Ann Gray, Sarah and Nancy (formerly Gray) and Elizabeth Gray, his sisters, for proof of which they refer to the certificate.
