Baltimore County Union December 27, 1873
The Baltimore American of Tuesday says: Mr. Peter Fowble, a resident of the 
Fifth district of Baltimore county, was in this city yesterday.  The gentleman 
stated it to be his seventy-eighth birthday, and he looked as hale and hearty 
as though but sixty-five.  Mr. Fowble was one of the defenders of Baltimore in 
1814, he being then but seventeen years of age, yet he shoulder- his musket, 
and enrolled himself among his country's defenders.
