St. Agnes Convent, at Mt. Washington, on Thursday, 21 ult. They were invested with the white evil. The services which were held in the chapel were very impressive. The altar was decorated with flowers, and brilliantly illuminated with many candles. The candidates were Miss Charlotte Hugo, a convert and a niece of the Episcopal Bishop of London, who was given the name of Sister Mary Anselm; Miss Frances Denchy, of Boston, who received the name of Siter Mary Peter Canaistus; Miss Margaret Gilleran received her name as Sister Mary Philip Neri; Miss Celia McHale, of Ireland, received the name of Sister Marcella. The three first were choir sisters. Rev. M. A. Fenne was the celebrant of the mass. Rev. P. J. Donahue preached a sermon from the xxvi chater of Deuteronomy, vs. xvii and xviii.
