Mary Catharine |
15 Feb 1851 |
On the 15th instant, of dropsy on the brain, Mary Catharine, aged 3 years 1 month and 26 days, Youngest daughter of Thomas and Catharine MADDEN. Oh God! forgive my anguish deep and wild, Tis hard to part with her, I olve my darling child; To see her white lips quivering and gasping quick for breath, Her little bossom heaving high beneath the throes of death. Her sunny curls are shinning still around her forehead, But death hath placed his signet there and dimned her bright blue eyes. Oh calm thee babe, thy head is pillowed on thy mother;s breast, Where oft, when tired of play, you came to seek a peaceful rest. |
