Baltimore County Advocate
May 15, 1858

PARSONS, ELIPHALET     At Monkton, Baltimore county, of an affection of the kidneys, 
after an illness of 19 days, suffering the most excruciating pains, Mr. Eliphalet 
Parsons, in the 66th year of his age.  The deceased was well known throughout the 
State as a man of sterling worth, having been a member of the M. E. Church for more 
than 40 years, and for 35 years a class-leader in that connection.  He was a man of 
good sound judgment in every respect.  His death will be deeply felt by the neighborhood 
of which he was a resident.  “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord, for they shall 
see God.”

STRAN, FREDERICK THOMAS     At the residence of his parents, in Baltimore city, on 
Monday morning, May 10th, after a severe and protracted illness, Frederick Thomas, 
son of Wm. H. and Ann M. L. Stran, aged 10 years.
