H. P. At Laurel, Md., on the 21st inst., Dr. H. P. Worthington, in his 37th year. KELLEY, RACHEL In Baltimore county, at the residence of her son-in-law, (James C. Guyton,) Rachel Kelley, in the 89th year of her age, consort of Joseph Kelley. DYE, PENELOPE On the 12th inst., Penelope Dye, daughter of John O. Price and Annie Price, aged seven months. MANNING, EDWARD At Randallstown, Baltimore Co. on the 5th inst., after an illness of fourteen weeks, Edward Manning, in the 23d year of his age. His illness was of short duration, but in the final severe; and life perhaps never deserted a heart more pure, a character so irreproachable as was embodied in that of the subject of this brief sketch. His friendship – the noble impulses springs from his manly bosom- held him in esteem among all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance. It is consoling to tread the paths of life’s troubled scenes, and finally, when its scenes are past, to pass off bearing the esteem and benediction of those with whom he was associated. To his parents in this sad bereavement; bereft as they are of their support in their declining years, and for whose maintenance he entertained a hope that he might be permitted to enjoy life longer; they have the consolation of knowing that all human skill could devise was availed of. But an all wise God, whose ways are past finding out, had issued his decree calling his soul to the God who gave it, and adding one more to the number inhabiting the realms above. Far from the tumult of this transitory world, in the quiet burial ground by the side of departed friends, rest the mortal remains of him we mourn. Peaceful be thy slumbers, Edward, and many blessings descend upon thy dependent and distressed parents. A. C. R.
