On July 30th, at the residence of his brother, Towsontown, Md., after a lingering illness, William C. Mann, in the 44th year of his age. Bedford, Pa. Papers please copy. ROSIER, ABIJAH? In the 7th District, on Friday, the 30th ult., suddenly, Mrs. Abijah? Rosier, aged about 45 years. CROOKS, CHARLOTTE R. At Randallstown, Baltimore County, on the 28th ult., after an illness of three weeks, Charlotte R., wife of John Crooks, in the 45th year of her age. “In the midst of life we are in death.” How truthfully verified is this impressive sentence contained in the Holy Scriptures. It is a theme for reflection, for devout meditation, seeing that in the decease of friends there is an exemplification of the uncertainty of life. But a few days had elapsed since that estimable lady was in the full enjoyment of health, bidding fair to live yet many years of usefulness; shedding that luster in her family circle which has adorned her character with the praise and admiration of her extensive acquaintances. In her were found those attributes so characteristic in her nature – a loving and devoted wife; a fond and indulgent mother. A friend to the needy and suffering, as many must necessarily testify. Cheerfully and with pleasure administering to the wants of the afflicted. A Christian walking in the light of righteousness; evincing by her life that she possessed those virtues which adorn the life of the Christian. Cease your mourning, Father, Children! For the mother now at rest; And to meet her make beginning, Where trouble crosses not her breast. For you her love was unrequited, And ‘twill not cease in death, It will grow and be brightened, As she sits among the blest. Now her time on earth is ended, She with angels will unite; And be ready there to greet you, When you pass to realms more bright. MOORES, MARIA ELIZABETH On the 2nd ult., at Hickory Ground, Norfolk county., Va., Maria Elizabeth Moores, only child of Dr. Samuel S. and Fanny S. Moores, aged six months and four days. Farewell, my child, till you and I Shall meet in that blessed world above, There an eternity we’ll spend, And sing of God’s redeeming love. HYNES, JOSHUA H. JR. On the 21st ult., at the residence of his father, in Baltimore city, Joshua H. Hynes, Jr. in the 24th year of his age. Truly it can be said, “To know him was to love him.” The golden thread is severed, A beloved one has fled, A soul hath winged its flight From the mansion of the dead: Winged its flight to greener pastures, Where living waters roll, And angels ever harp Around the throne of gold. All weeping here is useless, Beloved ones, dry your tears; Our lost one is with Jesus, Who will quiet all our fears. Whom the Lord loveth, the name he ch? But why, no on can tell; Then bless the glorious Giver, Who doeth all things well. This file is located at http://files.usgwarchives.net/md/baltimore/obits/ba18580807.txt
